Areas of the High Peak which are covered by Parish or Town councils get their grit bins provided by the relevant Town or Parish council. Neither Glossop nor Buxton have a Town Council, which means that High Peak Borough Council is the authority responsible for maintaining the grit bins. Unfortunately, HPBC is refusing to commit to maintaining additional grit bins in advance of winter, leaving both Glossop and Buxton at a disadvantage compared to the rest of the constituency.

I'm therefore asking people to sign my petition urging DCC and HPBC to get round the table, resolve this issue and install additional grit bins in Glossop and Buxton. I intend to present this petition to both Councils, in order to show the strength of feeling from local residents on this.
