January is a difficult time for pubs, with many giving up drink or trying to save some money after Christmas.
I know that last year was tough for small businesses. Many are still recovering from the effects of the pandemic, and now face higher energy costs and slimmer profit margins.
We are extremely lucky to have so many brilliant pubs in the High Peak and I have been a proud champion of them in Parliament.
That's why I've launched a competition to find High Peak's Best Pub. I want to recognise the important role pubs play not only in the economy but in our local areas, supporting a sense of community and pride of place.
Whether it's the work they do for the local community, the food they serve, or the pints they pull, please send in your nomination for High Peak's Best Pub below.
I will be announcing the winner over the coming weeks.
If you're a pub landlord in High Peak and would be interested in receiving a batch of my beer mats advertising the competition, please email my office at [email protected].
