Local Conservative Candidate, Robert Largan, has joined with local residents in Chapel-en-le-Frith to declare zero tolerance to litter.
On Saturday, a group of local residents came together for a litter pick in the town centre of Chapel-en-le-Frith. The event was very successful with a good turnout of local people and politicians, with a large number of black bin bags being filled with rubbish picked up off the streets of Chapel.
The litter pick was organised by Borough Councillor Kath Sizeland, who represents Chapel West ward.
Councillor Sizeland commented:
“Many residents have been concerned about litter in Chapel. We have a really strong community spirit here and people care about the appearance of our town.
“That’s why I organised this litter pick, to do what I can to improve Chapel and keep it clean for everyone to enjoy. I’m really pleased Robert has shown himself to be a hands-on candidate and came to help as well.”
Commenting, Robert Largan said:
“Chapel-en-le-Frith is a really special town and I want to work with local residents to help make it an even better place to live. It’s fantastic to see so many people coming to show how much they care about where they live.
“I’m really keen to get stuck in and help out in other areas across the High Peak. If we work together, we can all make a difference.”
