Derbyshire’s new Police & Crime Commissioner, Angelique Foster, has been on a walkabout in Hadfield to see local crime and anti-social behaviour issues first hand.

The Commissioner was brought to the High Peak by local MP, Robert Largan, following his Hadfield Policing Forum, a virtual meeting with residents and Derbyshire Police, held the evening before (9th September).

The forum gave residents a chance to ask Derbyshire Police questions on various issues such as anti-social behaviour, car theft and speeding. The meeting continues the MP’s focus on crime and policing and his efforts to help make the High Peak an even safer place to live.

It follows similar forums for Fairfield and Chinley earlier this year. The MP plans to host similar meetings across the High Peak. 

The following day, Robert brought Angelique Foster, the Derbyshire Police & Crime Commissioner, for a walkabout in Hadfield. 

Robert brought the Commissioner to Hadfield to highlight the issues raised at the forum, so she could see first-hand the impact that they are having on the area. Robert also made the case for more police resources to be deployed to Hadfield on an ongoing basis.

“It was a good meeting, and I’m glad that everyone present got the chance to raise lots of issues with the Police.  

“I brought our new Police & Crime Commissioner Angelique Foster up to Hadfield for a walkabout, so she could see some of the issues first-hand and hear the views of local people.”

“I also took the opportunity to make the case that more of Derbyshire Police’s resources need to be focused on the High Peak and that we need to get our fair share of the additional 20,000 police officers being recruited.”
