High Peak MP Robert Largan has announced the winner of his Christmas Card Design Competition.
The Glossop resident and local MP had held a competition amongst local school children to design his annual e-Christmas Card.
The winning card was designed by 11 year old Elise, who is in Year 7 at Glossopdale School.
To be environmentally friendly, the Member of Parliament did not send out a physical card but instead sent out a card by email to over 5,500 local residents.
The MP donated the money he would usually spend on cards and stamps to local charity, Reuben’s Retreat, based at the old Woods Hospital site near Howard Park in Glossop.
Reuben's Retreat provide support to children and young people who have a life limiting or life threatening illness and their families. They also provide support for families who have lost a child.
If you wish to make a donation yourself, you can do so here: www.reubensretreat.org
Robert Largan MP commented:
“Thank you to all the children and schools that entered my competition. There were some really creative entries and it was difficult to pick just one winner.
“Well done to Elise for her brilliant winning design of a reindeer!”
