From Sunday 10th July, a new timetable for High Peak Buses’ 61, 185, 186 and 199 services come into effect.
The 61 service between Glossop and Buxton will see only slight changes to its schedule, as will the 185 and 186 services in Buxton. The 199 service, however, will see significant changes with buses no longer running from Stockport to Manchester Airport after 7pm.
It is advised that those who use these services check the new timetables, which can be found here: www.highpeakbuses.com/bus-services.
Local MP Robert Largan, who has been campaigning for more regular bus services, has written to High Peak Buses, requesting an urgent meeting to discuss the changes.
Robert Largan, MP for High Peak, said:
“Since being elected, I have consistently campaigned for better bus services in the High Peak.
“This is a step in the wrong direction, timed perfectly to disrupt local people’s holiday plans.
“I have written to High Peak Buses to request an urgent meeting to discuss the proposed service reductions.”
