Robert Largan MP has launched a Christmas Card design competition for local school children.
The competition is open to all children under the age of 13.
As has been done in previous years, the MP will send out the winning entry as an e-card to the over 10,000 local residents who have signed up to his email newsletter. This option is much more environmentally friendly than sending out physical cards to everyone. The MP will instead be donating the money he would have spent sending out physical cards to a local charity, Helen Atkin Group, Riding for the Disabled.
Last year the winning entry was also presented to the Prime Minister by Robert Largan MP.
There are no criteria for the design – it might be about High Peak at Christmas, parliament, or something completely different. Since glitter does not come out well on digital images, it is advised to not use it for designing these cards.
The form to design the card on is attached below. Entries can be posted to the MP’s constituency office at:

To make sure everyone that wants to has a chance to send in a card, the deadline for entries has been extended to Wednesday 13th December 2023.
Robert Largan MP commented:
“I’m doing my bit to be environmentally friendly by not sending a paper Christmas card and donating the cost to support a brilliant local charity, Helen Atkin Group, Riding for the Disabled. I want my e-card to look great and showcase the creativity of local children.
“I've been impressed by the entries every year and look forward to seeing everyone's designs this time round!”
