Robert Largan MP has praised the efforts of local police officers after the stepping up of their humanitarian efforts to support Ukrainian officers.
Local officers, Jim and Rob first took part in a humanitarian aid convoy to Krakow, Poland, in January 2023 to deliver aid and decided to expand their efforts.
They aim to raise £25,000 to support Ukrainian police officers and their families, by buying items such as Trauma First Aid kits and other vital aid equipment.
So far they have garnered support from senior local police officers, as well as the Police Federation and a number of businesses. They have also been successful in establishing a trusted point of contact in the Ukrainian Patrol Police and have done a number of interviews with local and national media.
Robert Largan, Member of Parliament for High Peak, has hailed the success so far in raising £3,185 in cash alongside the donation of £632 worth of trauma blankets and has praised the efforts of officers taking part in sponsored events with special recognition going to PC Todd’s half marathon.

Oleksandra, Head of Public Relations at the Ukrainian Patrol Police Ivano-Frankivsk division, commented:
“I have been serving in the police for eight years; the war prompted me to choose such a profession. Many of my friends voluntarily went to the [Crimean] front in 2014. I volunteered, helped military personnel and their families.
“After the reform, I decided to join the ranks of the new police force and protect people. At first I worked as a patrol officer, now I work with children, with public organisations on social projects, in particular in the fight against domestic violence.
“With the start of a full-scale war in 2022, I help my colleagues at the front, military personnel, evacuees and children who have had to flee from the war. I have my own two children and I know how painful it is to see fear in their eyes.
“There are no works to express our gratitude to you [Cops for Ukraine]! We will definitely win and finally be able to enjoy life and rejoice in triumph!”
