Robert Largan, Conservative Candidate for High Peak, has welcomed the news that Buxton Waitrose have re-opened their customer toilet facilities in their store in the Springs Shopping Centre.
The customer toilet facilities had been out of order for a very lengthy period of time, causing a lot of frustration to shoppers in the town.
Older customers in particular had complained about the long running toilet saga, which is compounded by the general lack of toilet facilities in the town centre.
In a letter to Waitrose Managing Director Rob Collins, Conservative Parliamentary Candidate Robert Largan had highlighted these problems and urged the retail boss to take swift action to finally have the toilet facilities repaired.
Following the letter from the Conservative Candidate, Waitrose have now confirmed that they have reopened the toilet facilities after repair work took place.
Commenting, Robert Largan said:
“This is good news and I am grateful to the hard working staff at Buxton Waitrose for getting this resolved. But there is a wider issue of toilet facilities in the town centre. That’s why I have also written to the management of the Springs Shopping Centre, urging them to reassess the need for toilet facilities for all shoppers.
“It is more important than ever that we work together to make it as easy and enjoyable as possible for people to come and shop in Buxton to support our high street and fantastic local businesses.”
