Robert Largan, MP for High Peak, has received his flu vaccine at Well Pharmacy in Whaley Bridge.
During his visit, the High Peak MP asked about the challenges pharmacies are facing, and heard how community pharmacists had stepped up to serve patients over the past 18 months.
This year’s flu vaccination programme will be one of the biggest in the country's history, with the vaccine being made available to more than 35 million people for free.
Flu jabs are available for free on the NHS to those over 50 or with long-term health conditions. Those not eligible for a jab on the NHS can still receive a flu vaccine for a small fee.
Last month community pharmacies in England smashed the 2020/21 flu vaccination record in just under two months, delivering almost 2.9 million jabs since 1 September.
Mr Largan has urged patients to come forward and get their flu and COVID-19 vaccinations.
Robert Largan, MP for High Peak, commented:
“A big thank you to the lovely people at Well Pharmacy in Whaley Bridge for administering my flu jab this morning.
“It only took five minutes and will help keep me fighting fit this winter!
“I urge everyone eligible to take up the offer of a free flu vaccine, and help do their bit to protect our loved ones and the NHS this winter.”
