Free government support for exporters in the High Peak will be outlined to businesses by local MP Robert Largan to help them take advantage of international opportunities and tap into British products' substantial global demand.
By organising a series of events through 2021, Robert Largan is helping businesses in his constituency start or grow international sales and showcase the Best of British goods.
The virtual event, entitled 'Expand your business: access new and fast-growing markets’, will be held on 27th July.
Exports are equivalent to nearly a third of the national income, and the UK is the fifth biggest exporter in the world.
Agreements have been reached with 67 nations plus the EU, covering £891bn in trade.
Robert is determined to help local companies thrive in the high growth markets of the future, create high-quality jobs and support the local area recovery after the Covid crisis.
The latest research shows exports support 6.5m jobs across the UK, 74% outside London.
The research estimates jobs directly and indirectly supported by exports pay around 7% more than the national median, with Office for National Statistics assessing that goods exporting businesses are also 21% more productive.
Robert is working with the Department for International Trade (DIT) as part of the Parliamentary Export Programme to help local businesses access the free support they need to boost their exporting potential and understand the effects of trade agreements and how to benefit from them.
These sessions will provide High Peak businesses with an opportunity to hear directly from the Department for International Trade and an experienced local Export Champion about the support available for companies to expand their business overseas.
Robert is a founding member of the Parliamentary Export Programme, where selected cross-party MPs organise and chair virtual meetings with experts from business and government to support local businesses in their exporting journey.

Robert Largan, MP for High Peak, said:
"Helping local businesses recover from the pandemic is one of my top priorities.
"That's why I'm pleased to be hosting events that can protect jobs and give businesses in my constituency access to information, advice and finance to sell internationally.
"The events I'm organising are free, and all businesses need to do is register
online.
"Experts and experienced exporters will provide advice including on government-supported working capital and the practicalities of post-Brexit trade.
"Whether a business is new to exporting, has exported in the past or is a current exporter, participating in the programme will equip them with the support and tools they need to begin or continue their exporting journey."
