Local MP Robert Largan held his second annual Jobs & Apprenticeships Fair last week, on Friday 23rd September.
The event, which was kindly hosted by New Mills Leisure Centre, was a huge success, with nearly 50 excellent local businesses attending and offering jobs, apprenticeships and other opportunities.
Over 500 people came to the Jobs and Apprenticeships Fair, which included advice from ASK and youth employment support from Derbyshire County Council.
Mr Largan was pleased to hear reports of businesses readily accepting CVs from attendees and having a number of conversations which led to offers of interviews.
Businesses were asked to submit feedback forms, which showed that many positive connections were made and that the event was a good experience for all involved.
Robert Largan, MP for High Peak, commented:
“My second annual Jobs & Apprenticeships Fair on Friday was a fantastic event, and I was very pleased to see over 500 people attending.
“We’ve had great feedback so far with lots of CVs being accepted, positive conversations being had and interviews being offered to jobseekers of all ages and backgrounds.
“It is great to see that the businesses who attended were able to make so many positive connections.
“I will be hosting my third annual Jobs and Apprenticeships Fair next year, taking on board the feedback offered by those who came. This is at heart a community-driven event, by employers, for jobseekers.”
