High Peak Member of Parliament Robert Largan is pleased to announce that he will be partnering again with Google, through their flagship Google Digital Garage programme, to provide free in-person training at his third annual High Peak Jobs & Apprenticeships Fair.
The fair will take place on Friday 29th September 2023 at The Pavilion Gardens in Buxton from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm, and will be open to all High Peak residents, with free admission.
Google will be hosting their ‘Find Your Career Goals’ workshop between 10:45 and 11:30am, offering attendees a chance to explore what they enjoy doing, what they are good at and what employers and others value. A second workshop, ‘Build a CV and Write a Cover Letter’ will be held from 12:45 to 1:30pm.
Google Digital Garage is one of Google’s flagship investment programmes in the UK, providing free digital skills training to individuals and businesses. The live webinars are delivered by expert trainers ready to help and support learning, whatever your goals.
Since its launch in 2015, they have visited over 500 villages, towns and cities across the UK and trained over 400,000 people face-to-face and online, with Buxton and the High Peak soon to be added to their extensive list.
In addition, over 50 locally and nationally-recognised employers will be exhibiting at the event.
Big local and national names including Manchester Airport Group, Tarmac, Stepping Hill Hospital, B&M, Severn Trent, High Peak Borough Council, Mettrick’s, Harmoto, Röchling, Derbyshire Police, Kwik Fit, Cemex, Nestlé Waters, Carpenter, Avanti Conveyors, the National Careers Service, Barratt Homes and Ensana Buxton Crescent Hotel have all confirmed their attendance as exhibitors.
The event will run from 10am until 2pm and is free to attend. Any enquiries about the event can be made to Mr Largan’s office by email ([email protected]) or phone (01663 769779).
