High Peak Conservative Candidate, Robert Largan, has written to High Peak’s Labour MP, Ruth George, challenging her to agree to local debates, whenever the next general election takes place.
Glossop resident Robert Largan is the main challenger to Labour MP Ruth George in what is one of the most marginal constituencies in the country.
The Conservative Candidate has also indicated that he wants the local Green and Liberal Democrat candidates to take part in the election debates as well.
Robert Largan, Conservative Candidate for High Peak commented:
"At the next general election, the people of High Peak have an important choice to make about the future of our local area and to determine who will be Prime Minister. I believe it is vital that we hold election hustings across the High Peak to ensure we have a proper local debate.
“I have written to Ruth George to ask her to publicly confirm she will take part in local hustings. I look forward to debating her and making a positive case to voters about my plan to help make the High Peak an even better place to live.”
