High Peak MP Robert Largan has established an All-Party Parliamentary Group for the Peak District. As Chair of the APPG, Robert is joined by Karen Bradley MP, Chris Clarkson MP, Nigel Mills MP, and Jonathan Reynolds MP as Vice-Chairs.

The APPG will bring together Parliamentarians and conservationists to discuss and raise awareness of the Peak District and seek ways to improve the area. Sarah Fowler, Chief Executive of the Peak District National Park Authority (PDNPA), attended the inaugural meeting.

Going forward, the APPG will put together a work programme to open discussion around the challenges facing the national park and the businesses and communities based in the area. The first evidence session of the APPG will investigate the impact of the coronavirus outbreak and the future of sustainable and accessible transport.

“The Peak District is truly a special place. As High Peak’s MP, I feel a deep responsibility to help conserve this precious environmental asset for future generations. This cross-party group provides an exciting opportunity to enable greater cooperation between parliamentarians, conservationists, and the national park, backing a green recovery from coronavirus.”
