High Peak MP Robert Largan is once again running a Christmas Card design competition for local school children.
The MP is trying to be environmentally friendly by not sending out a paper Christmas Card. Instead, he will be sending out an e-card and donating what he would have spent to a local charity, Crossroads Derbyshire.
But the MP wants his e-card to reflect the best of High Peak and to showcase the creativity of local schoolchildren.
The competition is open to all children under the age of 13, with the winning design being sent out to over 10,000 local residents who get his email newsletter.
There’s no criteria for the design. It might be about High Peak or Christmas or something completely different.
The form on which to design the card is available on Robert’s website at www.robertlargan.co.uk/xmascard. Entries can be posted to the MP’s constituency office: Robert Largan MP, 18 Market Street, Whaley Bridge, SK23 7LP.
The deadline for applications is Thursday 1 December 2022.
Robert Largan, MP for High Peak, commented:
“After the success of last year’s competition, with hundreds of designs from children right across High Peak being sent in, I am very happy to once again open my annual Christmas Card Competition.
“I’m doing my bit to be environmentally friendly again this year by not sending a paper Christmas card and donating the cost to support a fantastic local charity, Crossroads Derbyshire.
“But I also want my e-card to look great and showcase the creativity and talent of local children.
“Last year’s competition set a very high standard, but I’m looking forward to seeing what the children of High Peak come up with this year to top it!”
