Robert Largan MP supports blood drive to help local hospitals
High Peak MP Robert Largan is encouraging people to answer the NHS’s call to donate blood.
Sessions and donor centres are still open in the High Peak, and travel to make a blood donation is essential for the NHS and allowed under the Government’s coronavirus guidance.
Although NHS hospitals in the region have good stock levels, blood donations have dropped. To protect the NHS in the weeks and months ahead, more blood donations are needed.
There are safety measures in place for donor centres. This includes extra cleaning and asking donors to follow the latest advice from NHS Blood and Transport and the Government.
The situation is regularly reviewed in coordination with the Department for Health and Social Care, Public Health England, and other blood donation services.
Robert Largan MP commented:
“Donating blood saves lives. It is a chance to do something positive for High Peak communities. NHS staff are under immense pressure, and they need as many resources as possible.
“I will be attending High Peak donor sessions in the coming months, doing my bit to help support our local NHS during this crisis. I would urge other High Peak residents to do the same.”
The forthcoming donor sessions will take place at the following times and locations:
