High Peak MP Robert Largan went on an arranged, socially distanced visit to the Coronavirus Red Hub at Buxton Hospital. He also visited the Minor Injuries Unit.
The local MP made the visit to thank the doctors, nurses and health workers and to make sure they have the support they need, particularly when it comes to PPE and testing.
The hospital is the site of the local COVID-19 Red Hub, where patients who have been referred by their GP can be assessed. The hub is only available for those who have been referred by their GP. If you start showing symptoms, check 111.nhs.uk .
Those assessments are done in a completely separate area to the rest of the hospital, which is still open. That includes the Minor Injuries Unit, which is still open from 8am-8pm.
Robert Largan MP said:
“I went to Buxton Hospital to thank the doctors, nurses and health workers there for the amazing work they are doing and to make sure they have the support they need, particularly when it comes to PPE and testing.
“The work that health workers are doing is absolutely vital and helping to save lives. I am determined to do everything I can to make sure they have the tools they need to do the job safely.”
