On Friday 3rd July, Robert Largan MP visited Buxton-based logistics firm Lomas Distribution to discuss the challenges presented by coronavirus and employment opportunities within the growing business.
Since 1986, Lomas Distribution Ltd, a family-run business headed up by Managing Director Richard Lomas, has grown from a man-and-a-van operation into a major national logistics provider employing over 300 workers.
Last year they were involved as the supplier of plant, vehicles and ballast for the Whaley Bridge Dam emergency.
Throughout the pandemic, their drivers have continued to support critical services such as waste disposal depots, public water treatment facilities and power generation.
Robert Largan MP commented:
“It was great to visit one of the biggest employers in the High Peak and chat with them about their work.
“I’m always keen to speak with local businesses to learn more about their experiences in the current economic climate, and how the Government can best help them and their workforces.”
