High Peak MP Robert Largan recently visited Buxton business, Selden Research, which is the UK’s biggest manufacturer of hand sanitiser.
The MP visited to thank the staff for their hard work and to learn more about the business and see the vital work they are doing manufacturing hand sanitiser, including for care homes.
Selden Research are a privately owned and run family business in Buxton, established in 1968, employing nearly 200 people.
They operate in the business to business supply chain of the cleaning and hygiene sector, manufacturing over 50million litres of chemicals annually, exporting all around the world. This includes hand sanitisers and a range of anti-viral cleaning products.
In just one week recently, the Buxton business manufactured over 500,000 litres of finished product, including hand sanitiser and viricidal hard surface cleaners.
The MP met with Managing Director Mark Woodhead and toured their laboratories.
