High Peak’s local MP, Robert Largan, has this week welcomed the news of a new bus service from Sheffield to Manchester, which will run through Glossop.
Running approximately every 2 hours every day, the X57 service run by Hulleys will call at Henry Street in Glossop and run non-stop to Manchester after the Gun Inn.
The journey time from Glossop to Manchester is scheduled to be 40 minutes, and 50 minutes for the journey from Glossop to Sheffield.
The service is due to start on Monday 26 October.
Robert Largan MP commented:
“Lots of Glossop residents rely on public transport to get around, so at a time when it seems that bus companies are continually cutting back on services that local people rely on, it’s great to see a new service added.
“Whilst this service won’t be suitable for everyone, I’m pleased that it will offer a quick and affordable route into Manchester each morning, whilst also providing a direct service in to Sheffield.”
