Following the enormous success of the previous High Peak Jobs & Apprenticeships Fairs, local MP Robert Largan has confirmed that he will be hosting his third annual Jobs & Apprenticeships Fair in September 2023.
It will take place on Friday 29 September at The Octagon Hall at Pavilion Gardens in Buxton from 10am until 2pm.
This event will be open to all High Peak residents with free admission, allowing young people, jobseekers and those wishing to re-train to access the wide variety of employment opportunities available to them.
Last year’s High Peak Jobs & Apprenticeships Fair at New Mills Leisure Centre and was attended by hundreds of local residents from across the High Peak and by over 40 of our region’s most recognisable employers. Vacancies were on offer in a range of sectors, from healthcare to hospitality to engineering to the public sector, helping to get people back into high-quality employment and helping our young people enter the job market as they leave formal education.
This year’s event will provide another valuable opportunity for people from across the High Peak and Derbyshire to discuss current job vacancies and future employment opportunities with the region’s most recognised employers under one roof.
Mr Largan is working with High Peak secondary schools, local authorities, job centres and the D2N2 Local Enterprise Partnership to ensure that this special event provides opportunity for all.
Employers who have already agreed to exhibit at the third High Peak Jobs & Apprenticeships Fair include Barclays, Chatsworth House, Derbyshire County Council, Ensana Buxton Crescent Hotel, Nestle Waters, Tameside Hospital, and Tarmac.
Parents and pupils will be able to benefit from apprenticeships advice from Buxton & Leek College and all attendees can receive one-to-one tailored careers advice and CV-writing support from careers advisors at Derbyshire County Council, work coaches from Job Centre Plus, and other local employment and careers support networks.
Any employers interested in exhibiting at the fair are encouraged to get in touch with Robert’s office by emailing [email protected] or calling 01663 769779.
Robert Largan, MP for High Peak, commented:
“I’m really excited to announce the date for the third High Peak Jobs and Apprenticeships Fair.
“Local employers such as Tarmac, Buxton Water and Tameside Hospital are so important to our communities across the High Peak.
“That’s why I am so pleased to welcome them to exhibit at my Jobs and Apprenticeships Fair. I hope that this event will help lots of local people into work or secure an apprenticeship with these highly recognised employers.
“I encourage any more businesses or organisations that would like to attend to get in touch to register your interest. I hope to see as many of you there as possible.”
