MP for High Peak, Robert Largan, who is also a member of the Transport Select Committee (TSC), has confirmed the TSC will be launching an inquiry into impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on bus services.
Robert has worked closely with High Peak Buses and Derbyshire County Council to ensure bus services in the High Peak continue to run. Although due to staffing shortages some services remain suspended, a revised timetable has been published today.
Robert Largan MP commented:
“It has been a busy day for local bus services. In light of the problems that we’ve been having with High Peak Buses, I’ve taken these issues to the Transport Select Committee.
“I’m pleased that the committee will be holding an inquiry into the impact of Covid on bus services on 10th February.
“This will be a chance to bring national attention to the problems caused by Covid and the impact it is having on the ground in High Peak and across the country.”
