Voting is now open in the regional finals of the Countryside Alliance Awards, where High Peak’s very own The Bridge Bakehouse in Whaley Bridge and Buxton butchers Geoff Mycock & Sons are up for awards.
The awards are now in their sixteenth year and have become the definitive rural business award to win, driven by public nomination.
Local MP Robert Largan is encouraging everyone who can to place their vote to support the two highly regarded local businesses.
The Bridge Bakehouse in Whaley Bridge has been nominated as a regional finalist for the Local Food/Drink category.
Buxton butchers Geoff Mycock & Sons has been nominated as a regional finalist for the Local Butcher category.
The two well-respected local businesses are up against other nominated enterprises from across the Midlands in their individual categories. The winners of the public vote will then compete nationally, representing the Midlands at the House of Lords in the national champions’ reception in May.
The regional winners of the Countryside Alliance Awards, also known as the Rural Oscars, will be announced by mid-March.
People can vote for their chosen business or businesses in multiple categories, at the following address: https://www.research.net/r/CAawardsmidlandssocial.
Robert Largan, MP for High Peak, commented:
“Voting is now open for the Rural Oscars and the High Peak has two excellent nominees in the running.
“I have placed my vote for them both and encourage everyone who can to do the same. I wish both businesses the best of luck!”
