Conservative Candidate for High Peak, Robert Largan, has called on the Post Office to reconsider their decision to relocate the undelivered post collection service from Hadfield to Hyde.
Hadfield customers have been told that from November, if they want to collect undelivered post or packages, they must travel to the collection office at Hyde.
The decision has sparked concern from local residents, especially those who rely on public transport.
Robert Largan has formally written to Alisdair Cameron, Interim Chief Executive of the Post Office Ltd to request the decision the reviwed and, if it is no longer possible for a Hadfield collection office, for Glossop to be used instead of Hyde.
Commenting, Robert Largan, the Conservative Parliamentary Candidate for the High Peak said:
“This decision doesn’t make any sense. Hyde is much more difficult to get to for Hadfield residents, especially those that rely on public transport. I have called on the Post Office to reconsider their decision and to listen to local people.”
