On Friday 21st February Robert Largan MP visited Goyt Valley House care home in New Mills.
The High Peak MP met with staff, relatives and residents and saw first hands the refurbishment needs at the care home.
The care home is currently the subject of a Derbyshire County Council consultation about its future. A recent report has highlighted problems with the care home, which require addressing. The report has put the future of the care home into doubt.
Robert Largan MP said:
“The staff at Goyt Valley House do a fantastic job, they work incredibly hard and the strong relationship they have with residents is a testament to that.”
“The most memorable part of my visit was meeting a relative of a resident who told me just how much the home means to his family and the difference it has made to their lives.”
“I desperately want Goyt Valley House to stay open. I am continuing to work hard by lobbying the Council and pushing them for more answers.”
Robert has urged everyone concerned to take part in the consultation, so that the strength of local feeling is made clear.
