Last week, High Peak Member of Parliament Robert Largan made a public plea to tourists to “respect the High Peak”.
The MP commented following reports of a huge number of tourists pouring into the High Peak over the weekend, despite the Government advice on social distancing.
This led Derbyshire County Council to close its country parks.
Robert Largan MP said:
“This is a polite plea to tourists to respect the High Peak. It’s lovely that you want to visit us but the huge numbers of people coming & ignoring the advice on social distancing is becoming a serious problem. Please come back when the current crisis is over but for now, stay home and save lives.”
