The Communication Workers’ Union (CWU) has designated Wednesday 29th April National Postal Workers’ Day. Local MP Robert Largan is celebrating the day to thank postal workers for the service they are providing to High Peak residents during the current crisis.

This will be the ninth National Postal Workers’ Day, and the annual event is an opportunity to promote the brilliant work that High Peak’s postal workers do all year round. 

High Peak residents can join the nation in celebrating the hard work and dedication of hundreds of thousands of postal workers, who collect, sort and deliver letters, parcels and packets to 29 million addresses, 6 days a week. 
 
Robert Largan MP is encouraging the community to thank postal workers for the contribution they make to the High Peak by posting a message of support on social media with a message or a video.

Robert Largan MP commented:

“I want to pay tribute to all postal workers who serve our communities throughout the country. As the son of a former postman, I know how hard their job can be. This is an even more challenging job during a pandemic.

“It is also crucial that the Government stands by all of our nation’s key workers, including postal workers. That is why I am glad that access to testing will be extended to all key workers and their families if they have Coronavirus symptoms.

“Postal workers are going above and beyond to keep our country moving and ensuring that we are connected with friends, loved ones and businesses. That is why I believe it is so important to give them the recognition they deserve.”
