Eden Land Planning are currently preparing to submit a planning application on land south of Hollincross Lane in Glossop, which includes the Redcourt building.
The plans include 31 houses and the Redcourt building will be retained and converted into four townhouses. The site sits within the St James Conservation area.
On 22 April, in a letter to Eden Land Planning Robert Largan MP urged developers “to hold off on submitting any application until after the current crisis is over”.
On 29 April, in response to Robert Largan, Eden Land Planning agreed to extend the consultation by 3 weeks from 13th April to 4th May.
The developers also provided assurances that any comments they receive after the deadline and prior to submission of the application will be taken into account.
Robert Largan MP commented:
“This is welcome news, and I am glad the developers have recognised the fact residents need more time to consider the current proposals.
“A huge number of residents have contacted me, very concerned about the overdevelopment of Glossop and the pressure this is putting on our public services and road infrastructure. We need to make certain that we get the bypass built and get Glossopdale School expanded before we should even consider any new major housing developments.”
