Local MP, Robert Largan, hosted a virtual High Peak Headteacher Forum this week, inviting the headteacher of every school in the Borough.
Robert was joined by Councillor Alex Dale, Cabinet Member for Young People on Derbyshire County Council.
With visits to schools currently restricted, Robert set up the forum to give local headteachers an alternative way of keeping him informed, and as a way for Robert to listen to any concerns they may have.
Robert also took the opportunity to thank the headteachers and their staff for the work they are doing to provide support to their pupils and local communities, as well as their successful efforts to re-open schools safely.
Headteachers from primary and secondary schools across the High Peak discussed what was going well since schools reopened, as well as raising their concerns.
Robert Largan MP commented:
“I want to thank all the headteachers who joined me for my first virtual High Peak Headteacher Forum.
“I am incredibly grateful to all the headteachers and their staff for the hard work they are putting in during these difficult times.
“I try my best to be as accessible as possible and get out to visit schools whenever I can.
“But that has been difficult in the current circumstances, so I was pleased that this method enabled such constructive feedback.”
