Recently, MP for High Peak, Robert Largan, and Cllr Linda Grooby met Simon Mander, Managing Director of Avanti Conveyors, during a socially-distanced visit to their factory in Furness Vale.
They discussed how Avanti Conveyors is planning to expand and increase employment in the High Peak.
The manufacturer employs 60 workers, and has been based in the High Peak for almost 20 years. They export to most developed countries, supplying high tech automated machinery to produce corrugated board.
In recent years Avanti Conveyors has developed a new machine, named Pegasus, which aids in higher speed production of corrugated cases. Demand for their products has grown during the Covid crisis, and business looks strong for the forthcoming years.
Due to this demand, Avanti Conveyors has outgrown its current space at Calico Lane. For the last five years, they have been actively searching for a site in the High Peak.
Robert and Linda both underlined their support for the growing local business.
Robert Largan MP commented:
“It was great to visit Avanti Conveyors in Furness Vale and look around their factory.
“They’re a great local business and a prominent local employer, and it was good to discuss their ambitious plans for the future.”
