High Peak MP Robert Largan welcomed news that a second High Peak vaccination centre is due to open this weekend.

The first vaccination centre at Glossop Cricket Club is already up and running and doing a brilliant job, vaccinating local people as part of Phase One of the national rollout of the vaccine.

The second vaccination centre will be based at Thornbrook Surgery on Thornbrook Road, Chapel-en-le-Frith, SK23 0RH.

The first wave of patients are now being contacted, with the first clinic due to be held on Saturday 9th January. 

The car park will be closed to the public to allow patients to be able to park and access the surgery with ease.  

People are advised not to ring their GP Practice for an appointment. Patients will either receive a text message or a phone call to book an appointment.  

Similarly, people are requested not to come down to Thornbrook Surgery on the clinic days as you will not be offered a vaccination without an appointment.  

Robert Largan MP said: 

“This is great news and I want to thank all the local NHS staff who have worked hard to get this centre set up.

“I want to make certain that we get the vaccine rolled out as quickly as possible and that everyone is able to access a vaccination centre, including those in Buxton and New Mills. The NHS Clinical Commissioning Group have made a commitment to me that a third centre will open shortly as well.”
