Following calls from Local MP, Robert Largan, for a rethink of the reduced services, High Peak Buses has committed to reinstating several services, that will be a lifeline for keyworkers and school children across the High Peak.
Robert has confirmed a few important updates as High Peak Buses hasn’t been fully published changes to the timetable on its website. The changes are as followed:
• Peak Dale WILL be served by a bus, unlike announced yesterday.
• The 60 bus WILL continue to operate, unlike announced yesterday.
• The 58 bus WILL continue to operate, but will be on a much reduced service. This is being operated by D&G Buses who have come in to help the service keep running. However, the fare will have to be a flat one, and passengers will have to buy two singles rather than a return
• The 389 bus WILL continue to operate, unlike announced yesterday
• The 390 bus WILL continue to operate, unlike announced yesterday
• The 383 bus WILL continue to operate, unlike announced yesterday
• The Transpeak service will continue to run.
• The 394 between Glossop and Stepping Hill Hospital is still suspended
Robert has vowed to work with High Peak Buses and Derbyshire County Council to ensure the services are reinstated fully as soon as possible.
High Peak Buses have confirmed that this is due to staffing issues, linked to Covid, and is intended to be only temporary. The revised timetable is here: https://www.highpeakbuses.com/service-changes/
Robert Largan MP commented:
“There have been lots of back and forth all day between me, Derbyshire County Council and High Peak Buses.
“I'm pleased that they have listened and that the reduction in services will not be as drastic as announced yesterday. However, a huge number of services are still suspended, and others reduced to a skeleton service.
“I’ll continue working with them and Derbyshire County Council to get his services back up and running properly, as fast as possible.”
