High Peak MP Robert Largan has been helping to raise funds for new cricket nets for junior players at the Charlesworth & Chisworth Cricket Club where a world record attempt was made for the longest run-up for a ball bowled.
The High Peak MP was on verification duty with Jean Wharmby, Councillor for Glossop and Charlesworth, to support a Guinness World Records application.
The bowler started his run-up from Lanes End at Marple Bridge, starting at roughly 5km to run before bowling. The record currently stands at 2.52 miles.
