Local MP Robert Largan joined in with the fun at Eat in the Park, a brand-new music and food festival in Buxton, celebrating 150 years of the Pavilion Gardens.

On Saturday August 21 and Sunday August 22, over 1,500 festival-goers enjoyed live music, including headliners Oasish and Kazabian, as well as food and drink from local businesses such as Buxton Brewery, the Lonestar, the Arches and many more. 

In January 2021, organisers Jake and George contacted Robert asking for his support to help the event go ahead this year. Robert urged the local Council and Police to work with organisers to ensure the event could take place in Buxton, covid restrictions permitting. Following Robert’s intervention, Eat in the Park was granted a licence with zero objections.

Since July 19, all legal limits on social contact have been removed as part of the Step 4 unlocking, enabling concerts and music festivals to resume at full capacity. 

As Vice-Chair of the Events All-Party Parliamentary Group, Robert Largan MP has been speaking up in Parliament on behalf of local events organisers like Eat in the Park. 

Following Robert’s calls for indemnity insurance, a world-leading Government-backed insurance scheme has been announced, worth over £750 million. Set to launch in September, it will cover live events across the UK open to the public.
