Hardworking local MP Robert Largan has this week announced yet another way for residents to get in touch and share their views with new pub-based help and advice surgeries.
The pub surgeries, called ‘Your Local with Largan’, complement Robert’s existing weekly help and advice surgeries which are held in a different part of the constituency every week.
The first Local with Largan meeting will be held at the Devonshire Arms in Peak Forest from 6pm – 8pm on Friday 1 October. No appointment is needed.
The pub surgeries are designed to give local residents an opportunity to chat with their MP in a more informal and relaxed setting. They are also intended to give an additional support to local pubs by encouraging residents to visit their local pub for the first time.
Future pub surgeries will be announced on a regular basis.
Robert Largan MP commented:
“I’ve always tried my best to be as accessible as possible to local people. I already hold weekly help and advice surgeries, as well as regularly knocking on doors across the High Peak, but I wanted to find another way for people to come and chat to me in a more relaxed way, particularly those who are unable to make my weekly street surgeries.
“We’re very lucky to have some fantastic local pubs and I’ve always worked hard to support them in Parliament. The best pubs are at the heart of the local community, so it seemed natural to hold extra surgeries in our local pubs.
“I had considered calling the surgeries Lager with Largan, but I’m more of a bitter drinker!”
