High Peak MP Robert Largan has organised free coach transport to and from his High Peak Jobs & Apprenticeships Fair in Chapel-en-le-Frith later this month.
The first-ever High Peak Jobs & Apprenticeships Fair will take place on Friday 29th October 2021 at Chapel-en-le-Frith High School from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm and will be open to all High Peak residents with free admission.
Free transfers from Buxton, Dove Holes, Glossop, and New Mills will be available on the day of the event, in order to ensure that all High Peak residents can access the opportunities available at this event.
More than 100 seats will be available on a first come, first served basis from across the High Peak, on two Golden Green coaches. The departure times are as follows:
• Buxton (Market Place) at 9:30 am
• Dove Holes (Bus Depot) at 9:40 am
• Glossopdale School at 9:30 am
• Glossop (Henry Street) at 9:35 am
• New Mills (Union Road) at 9:50 am
Both coaches will return from Chapel-en-le-Frith High School at 2:00 pm.
Working in conjunction with the D2N2 Local Enterprise Partnership, this free transport will ensure that school leavers and jobseekers alike have access to the exciting opportunities and workshops on offer at the event.
Over 40 locally and nationally recognised employers will be exhibiting at the event, including JCB, Manchester Airport, Tarmac, Morrisons, Swizzels, the Army, Derbyshire Police, Street Crane, Breedon Cement Works, Nestlé Waters, Clover Chemicals, Avanti Conveyors and Ensana Buxton Crescent Hotel.
In addition, the event will also include:
• Free job skills workshop run by The Zink Project
• Apprenticeships advice for pupils and parents
• Interview & CV-Writing Skills from Buxton & Leek College
• Impartial adult careers advice from Derbyshire County Council
• A Kickstart stall offering placements at a range of employers
• A ‘Find Your Career Goals’ Google Digital Garage session
Robert Largan, MP for High Peak, commented:
“I am very pleased to announce that I have secured free transport from Buxton, Dove Holes, Glossop and New Mills to my High Peak Jobs & Apprenticeships Fair on 29th October.
“I know that it would have been difficult for some to travel from Glossop and New Mills to Chapel-en-le-Frith on public transport, and I wanted to make sure that the opportunities on offer at this event were open to everyone from across the High Peak.
“With over 40 employers, there will be hundreds of vacancies being advertised at the jobs fair. In addition, I have organised workshops from a range of organisations to help people develop their CV and find their career goals.
“If you want to attend and would like more information, please do get in touch with me. I hope to see as many of you there as possible.”
