High Peak MP Robert Largan recently visited the George & Dragon pub for a quiz in aid of Friends of Charlesworth School.
Friends of Charlesworth School is a local charity, based in the village, that raises funds for the benefit of the pupils in Charlesworth Primary School. In the past, proceeds have gone towards things like new playground equipment for the children to enjoy.
The quiz—with proceeds going to Friends of Charlesworth School—consisted of six rounds, with contestants being quizzed on important topics like the NATO phonetic alphabet, 90s pop songs, and the ever-important picture round.
After a spirited quiz with some challenging questions, Team Largan managed to claim top prize by a slim margin, and Friends of Charlesworth School went away with with some money to add to their coffers. A successful night all round!
Robert Largan, MP for High Peak, commented:
“It’s great fun for a great cause. What more could you ask for?
“I love how involved the Charlesworth community gets in helping one another!
“Friends of Charlesworth School has done some amazing things for the school. The village is really lucky to have such a dedicated group on its side.”
