High Peak MP Robert Largan recently visited St Mary's Catholic Primary School in New Mills. Mr Largan wanted to find out how the children were doing in their studies of British values, and to answer some hard-hitting questions from the students.

Mr Largan saw the pupils’ work on British values, including artwork they had made about individual liberty, the rule of law, respect, tolerance, and democracy. Some of the students’ artwork is now proudly displayed in Mr Largan’s office in Whaley Bridge.

Mr Largan also watched a performance from Class 3. The impressive performance involved a song and dance routine about what British values are, and the role they take in our lives.

Finally, Mr Largan was faced with some tough questions from the children on everything from speed cameras to the football team Mr Largan supports.

“The children put on some top-tier presentations. I am very proud to have such talented students in my constituency.

“It’s wonderful to see young people taking an interest in our values and democracy.”
