Local MP Robert Largan has announced that he has organised free bus transport to his 2nd annual Jobs & Apprenticeships Fair in New Mills later this month.

Robert’s first-ever High Peak Jobs & Apprenticeships Fair was held in October 2021. The event was attended by hundreds of local residents from across the High Peak and over 40 of our region’s most recognisable employers. Vacancies were on offer in a range of sectors, from healthcare to engineering, helping to get people back into high-quality employment and helping our young people enter the job market as they leave education.
This year’s event will provide another valuable opportunity for people from across the High Peak to discuss current job vacancies and future employment opportunities with our region’s most recognised employers under one roof.
Robert is working with High Peak secondary schools, local authorities, job centres and the D2N2 Local Enterprise Partnership to ensure that this special event provides opportunity for all.
Employers who have already agreed to exhibit at the 2nd High Peak Jobs & Apprenticeships Fair include Derbyshire Police, Derbyshire County Council, Chatsworth House, Swizzels Matlow, Nestle Waters, the NHS, the British Army, Breedon Cement Works and Ensana Buxton Crescent Hotel.
Robert Largan, MP for High Peak, commented:
“It is so important that people from across High Peak can access all the opportunities available to them in our area.
“My 2nd annual Jobs & Apprenticeships Fair will provide a unique chance for jobseekers, school leavers and those wishing to retrain from across High Peak to speak with over 40 of our area’s best employers under one roof.
“That’s why I have organised this free transport to and from the event in New Mills with the help of local charity Youth Matters, to ensure that everybody from Hadfield to Harpur Hill can access the opportunities on offer.
“If you know somebody who may benefit from using this bus service to my Jobs & Apprenticeships Fair, please do get in touch with my office on 01663 769779. I hope to see you there!”.
