Last night (Thursday 29th September), High Peak MP Robert Largan joined Derbyshire Police & Crime Commissioner, Angelique Foster, and local police on a patrol of Gamesley.
The pair discussed reports of antisocial behaviour in the area and visited problem sites to meet local residents and hear their concerns.
Mr Largan made the case for more police resources to be deployed to Gamesley on an ongoing basis. The meeting continues the local MP’s focus on crime and policing and his efforts to help make the High Peak an even safer place to live.
Elsewhere in the constituency, Mr Largan has organised a Policing Forum so residents can ask the police questions about preventing and tackling such crimes.
The forum will take place at 7:00 pm on Monday 10 October 2022. Residents must register to attend online and can ask the Police questions in advance by emailing [email protected].
This follows the success of similar forums held for residents in Buxton, Chinley, Fairfield, Hadfield, and Shirebrook.
Robert Largan, MP for High Peak, commented:
“It was good to join Police & Crime Commissioner Angelique Foster and Derbyshire Police in Gamesley to discuss local crime issues. I used this excellent opportunity to make the case for getting more police resources for the High Peak.
“For far too long, Derbyshire Constabulary has been too focused on policing in Derby to the detriment of the more northern and rural areas of the county. That needs fixing urgently.”
