Save the Sunday 61 bus

The 61 bus runs in both directions between Buxton Market Place to Henry Street in Glossop. This is vital service for many, connecting people across the High Peak.

Unfortunately, High Peak Buses have withdrawn the service on a Sunday. They claim that this is due to low demand.

If it weren’t for the free shuttle bus organised in conjunction with Network Rail, Derbyshire County Council and High Peak Buses, Whaley Bridge would be without a single bus service on a Sunday.

I have requested urgent clarification from High Peak Buses that the 61 will return to its normal route immediately following the closure, so that Whaley Bridge will not be cut off from the rest of the High Peak on Sundays.

Please join me by showing your support for the continuation of the 61 bus on a Sunday and sign my petition below.
