Robert Largan MP is pleased that there has been a recent increase in doctors, nurses and other clinical staff serving General Practitioners’ surgeries.
The announcement of the figures comes as part of government investment into the National Health Service and show a significant increase in patient care staff between September 2019 and September 2022.
The High Peak has seen a 28% increase in patient care staff in General Practitioners’ surgeries over the three year period, ensuring that surgeries have more staff to deal with an increase in workload following the country opening up after the pandemic.
Mr Largan welcomed the increase, which means that surgeries in the area have an additional 32 staff to assist patients.
Robert Largan, MP for High Peak, commented:
“I’m pleased to see a strong increase in patient care staff across the High Peak.
“The increase shows the Conservative government’s commitment to tackling the NHS backlog by providing the funding and staff for General Practitioners to deal with patients more efficiently and more effectively, more locally.
“High Peak’s GP surgeries do great work under a large amount of pressure and I am glad that they have received additional staffing to support them.”
