Buxton butchers Geoff Mycock & Sons have been chosen as a ‘Highly Commended’ business in the Butcher category of the 2023 Countryside Alliance Awards.
The competition was devised by the Countryside Alliance as a way of celebrating our communities, skills and produce through those who work so hard to keep rural life ticking. The Rural Oscars are now in their sixteenth year and have become the definitive rural business award to win.
The Highly Commended businesses were chosen by public vote and 40,000 votes were cast this year.
Local MP Robert Largan warmly welcomes the awarding of the status to Geoff Mycock & Sons.
The well-respected local butcher went up against other nominated enterprises from across the Midlands and came away with a Highly Respected status of recognition, which is testament to their tremendous contribution to the High Peak.
Robert Largan, MP for High Peak, commented:
“I’m really pleased to see that Geoff Mycock & Sons have received the recognition they deserve in this year’s Countryside Alliance Awards.
“I was proud to cast my vote for them in the Butcher category alongside thousands of others and this just shows how much support they have for their excellent business.
